Auditions for 2018 Season

Opus Concert Theatre is proud to announce auditions for the existing roles in our 2018 Season:

AÏDA
by Giuseppe Verdi – Semi-Staged Concert Version – Sung in Italian

Rehearsals begin in April
Conductor – Nonna Kaler-Slutsky, Accompanist – Aejin Kim, Brass Quintet
Performance dates are 2 June9 June and 17 June (Germano’s), 30 June 2018
Locations – Owen Brown Interfaith Center – Hall C in Columbia, MD
                     – Germano’s in Little Italia, Baltimore, MD

Roles available are:
Aïda –  Ethiopian Princess – Soprano
Radamès – Captain of the Guard – Tenor
Amneris – Daughter of the Pharaoh – Mezzo-Soprano – already cast
Amonasro – King of Ethiopia – Baritone – already cast
Ramfis – High Priest – Bass
Sacerdotessi – High Priestesses – (shared role – you sing every show, individual lines, then come together when it gets low in the voice)
Need – Soprano Section Leader for Ensemble;
Mezzo Section Leader already cast.
King/Pharaoh of Egypt – Bass – Section Leader for Ensemble
Messenger – Tenor – Section Leader for Ensemble

Amahl & the Night Visitors
by Gian Carlo Menotti – fully staged production.

Rehearsals begin in December.
Performances are:  December 16th,  21st22nd, and 23rd.
Locations – Slayton House Theatre Columbia, MD
                     – Germano’s in Little Italia, Baltimore, MD

Roles available are:
King Melchior – Baritone
King Balthazar – Bass

All other roles cast.

Stipend Pay

All shows will be video taped – DVD

For audition – Your best aria in Italian and if interested in Amahl, something in English.

Can offer pieces from the shows, reading from score.

Bring $20 check (Opus Concert Theatre) or cash to help pay for the accompanist & room rental.
